We can also offer proofreading of fiction work, including poetry, short stories, novels, etc.; this includes correction of errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax (please note that it does not involve deep editing of the content itself, beyond the language level).
As standard, our service includes:
- Full proofreading and correction of errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
- Suggestions where additional improvements or clarifications may be beneficial.
- Consistency checks with regard to headings, tables and figures, etc.
- Formatting of the manuscript to style guidelines (where applicable).
- Formatting of the reference list to style guidelines, or for consistency with the predominant style (where applicable).
- 30% discount on re-edits (for example, where changes have been requested by editors and the manuscript has been heavily revised).
The price we provide to you involves going well beyond a basic spelling and grammar check to ensure that your work is not only consistent, but is organized in the best way possible for maximum clarity and presentability. We also address stylistic issues, and ensure the style guidelines provided by your publishing house or other relevant body are followed as closely as possible.
We also offer some optional add-on services
- Translation: Documents are translated into English, and then undergo our usual rigorous proofreading service to ensure the language is of the highest standard possible, and the manuscript is in line with any style guidelines.
- Plagiarism checks: We use PlagScan software to make sure that your work does not contain unintentionally plagiarized content (this is also useful where you have drawn from other published work and wish to ensure that the text will not be considered plagiarized). After scanning, you receive a report containing suggestions on how the identified issues can be overcome.
- Addition of document elements such as automated table of contents, list of tables and list of figures.
- Word-count reduction: If your manuscript needs to be trimmed, we can help with that too. Reductions of up to 10% are covered in our standard price; for more extensive requirements, please complete the relevant information in the form below for a custom quote.
Pricing and turnaround times
- The price of each job depends on the word count. You can get an instant quote via the form below.
- Once you submit your work (or send us your query via email), we will get back to you within one business day.*
- We can accept payment via PayPal or bank transfer/wire in USD, EUR or GBP (note that you do not need a PayPal account to pay via PayPal – just a credit/debit card).
- Payment is usually required prior to work being started, although credit terms may be arranged with universities in certain circumstances.
- Standard turnaround time is four business days, but we also offer an Express Service for an additional $50.00.**
